Are you planning to join us on Thursday night from 6:00-7:30 PM? We hope so! If you pre-ordered a stuffed animal, you can arrive and visit the teddy bear bus at 5:30 PM to help expedite the line. You will open our doors for the event promptly at 6:00 PM. Don't forget we will have free pizza (while supplies last), free copies of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open, the "candy lady" will have a booth set up (kids LOVE their products), Brown Bear bingo, crafts, our drum club will perform and much more! We hope to have an amazing turnout.

NPES Parents - due to unforeseen circumstances, we are in need of a parent representative for the remainder of the school year on our SBDM (site-based decision making) Council. We have to hold a special election for parents to select a representative. This person will finish out the term - until June of 2027. The commitment includes a 6-hour training as well as one meeting a month (third Thursday of the month at 3:00 - you can join in person or virtually). If you are interested in running in the election, please complete the form below. We need all potential candidates to sign up by Tuesday so that we can prepare election materials. We will have a special election during our family night on Thursday, October 22nd.

Parents! The Teddy Bear Mobile Clinic will be at our family night on Thursday. It is a mobile truck like the Build-a-Bear experience. Today your child will be bringing home a blue form from the school district titled “Impact Aid Program Survey Form.” This form must be filled out by all families - ONE per household. The form pertains to federal funds due to our proximity to Ft. Knox. All families fill this out EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE MILITARY or do not work at Ft. Knox. If the military portion does not apply to you, you will only fill out the first section and sign at the bottom. This is a very important form that impacts school funding.
All students returning the form this week will receive 5 bee bucks for our bee ticket store. This is a store where they can purchase prizes using their bee bucks.
We need 100% participation regarding this form. We greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill it out and return to the school. If you have any questions, please contact our registrar, Tiffany Arnold, at tiffany.arnold@hardin.kyschools.us or by calling the school at 270-351-4464.

Message from NPES Nurse Kim: We will be doing flu shots on Monday for Pre-K M/W/F, 5 Day, all K. Tuesday flu vaccines will be given to Pre K T/Th. Only students with signed flu shot consents will receive the vaccine.

Grandparents should report to the front parking lot. Overflow parking can be found in the soccer field adjacent to our front parking lot.
Grandparents should be prepared to show an ID upon entrance to the school.
Grandparents may take students if the parent gave consent when registering the family for the event.
The Mod Booth digital photo booth will be available during the event for digital family event photos!
We cannot take any last minute registrations. If you have not signed up, please do not show up for this event.
Sign ups for our Grandparent Ice Cream Social events will close at 8:00 AM tomorrow. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions after 8:00 AM tomorrow. Information is below if you have missed it:

Since we have so many students, we have to divide the classes across two days. **Preschool families - we know that these events are sometimes tricky because of the three different preschool schedules. If your child attends on a different day than your teacher is assigned, your child's grandparent may bring them on the assigned day in time for the event. Unfortunately we cannot always accommodate our dates with the different preschool schedules.

At approximately 12:20 this afternoon, our school was put into a hard lockdown using our Raptor Technologies system. This system supplies district employees with security badges that have buttons that must be pressed multiple times during an emergency.
The button on a badge was pressed the appropriate number of times by accident, sending our school into lockdown for approximately 45 seconds.
Everything is fine. All is well. There is no need for our school to be on lockdown. The pressing of the button on the Raptor badge was a mistake.
We appreciate everyone’s care for our students and staff. And, we are thankful to our first responders and staff who took the situation seriously. Thank you for your support and dedication to our North Park Elementary family!
