At approximately 12:20 this afternoon, our school was put into a hard lockdown using our Raptor Technologies system. This system supplies district employees with security badges that have buttons that must be pressed multiple times during an emergency.
The button on a badge was pressed the appropriate number of times by accident, sending our school into lockdown for approximately 45 seconds.
Everything is fine. All is well. There is no need for our school to be on lockdown. The pressing of the button on the Raptor badge was a mistake.
We appreciate everyone’s care for our students and staff. And, we are thankful to our first responders and staff who took the situation seriously. Thank you for your support and dedication to our North Park Elementary family!

If you registered your child for school since March, you won’t really have an “update” like returning students or older children, but you can verify your child’s Infinite Campus information and have a portal account for the future. NPES Preschool Families: Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Hayes (school principals) have a short meeting we would love for you to attend with us to go over school procedures, policies and expectations. We also want to connect with you and help you if you need assistance with PickUp Patrol, Class Dojo, etc. We had these meetings with kindergarten, so we like to have the meetings with preschool families as well! We are offering a morning and afternoon time on Monday at 8:00 or 2:30. You choose one if at all possible. The meetings will be in our cafeteria. Thank you!
