NPES Families: Good morning! NTI Day 4 is today. Please see the graphic for tips and reminders. Our contact number is on the second graphic as we are still unable to staff the office. Please answer or return calls from NPES staff. They are required to contact you to check in, offer help, note which option you are utilizing and many are wanting to share updates on your child as well. Thank you for responding. We had a great NTI day yesterday and I HIGHLY encourage you to join the Google Meets - even if you're doing the packets. Kids were having so much fun and enjoyed seeing their friends/teachers. Also - kinder families - many teachers put QR codes on your child's take home folder that can be used to access Clever - our online portal where kids can access the digital programs we use. NPES Families: NTI Info for tomorrow
Please see the graphics and check your email or the school facebook page for everything you need to know regarding NTI MONDAY and TUESDAY. There are TWO images to swipe through. One has instructions to follow and the other one has contact info as our office will not be staffed until the roads are cleared more. I know NTI is not ideal for prek/kinder students; however, we have tried to make it very manageable and meaningful - as much as possible. Please plan to participate - it will help keep your kids from going as stir crazy, too!

NPES parents - we are sending home additional NTI packets with kindergarten students today in case they are needed next week. Preschool had choice boards sent home several weeks ago. All materials are on our NTI website on our NPES main website. We have no idea what will transpire next week and if NTI will be utilized. However, we wanted to be prepared just in case the superintendent uses NTI. I will also be sending our weekly newsletter tonight so that everyone can read it before the storm fully hits.
NP Families - a 2 hour delay means buses run two hours behind normal schedule, car rider will begin at 9:05 (approximately), school begins at 9:30, and school ends at normal times. All
times are just pushed back 2 hours on a delay (other than the ending times). Please refer to this graphic to help you. If you must drop your child off at normal time, our doors will be open starting at 7:10 am.

January is Board of Education Appreciation Month! We are grateful for the dedication of our board members and their support of HCS students and staff. We appreciate the service of Dawn Johnson (Board Chair), Ben Sego (Board Vice Chair), Steve Bland, Mark Casey and Charlie Wise.
Tomorrow is ROCK STAR DAY at North Park! Let's have a great high attendance day tomorrow AND a fun celebration of our rock star students! Dress like a rock star, wear a guitar shirt, wear neon, etc. All students at school tomorrow will receive a fun prize from the office!

Today we practiced all of our safety drills at North Park. This is a Kentucky mandate for the month of January. Our students did a FABULOUS job. We are utilizing a new system in our school district which allows our staff to update the status of students/staff via an app and enables the office to quickly communicate with teachers. It makes our drills efficient and helps us to account for the safety of every single child/adult. If your child mentions a fire, tornado, earthquake or lockdown, please just know that all of those alarms were only drills. As always, safety is our top priority!
North Park Families -
Since we are only a preschool/kindergarten school, there is a transition process for students moving to first grade. Please read the procedures for transitioning to FIRST GRADE as a North Park student. It can be a little confusing for families, so we want to outline the procedures for you now. Out-of-district applications for all schools are open now until February 28th. You MUST apply out-of-district if you want your child to attend a school other than your districted elementary school. Applying does not necessarily mean your child will be accepted to that school, so it is important to read the procedures carefully. We will have many transition events in the spring, so please look at the procedures now so that we can all be prepared to help provide a successful transition.
