This is North Park Elementary School principal Laura Beth Hayes .
At approximately 1:20 this afternoon, our school was put into a hard lockdown using our Raptor Technologies system. This system supplies district employees with security badges that have buttons that must be pressed multiple times during an emergency.
The button on their badge was pressed the appropriate number of times by accident, sending our school into lockdown.
Everything is fine. All is well. There is no need for our school to be on lockdown. The pressing of the button on the Raptor badge was a mistake.
We appreciate everyone’s care for our students and staff. And, we are thankful to our first responders and staff who took the situation seriously. Thank you for your support and dedication to our North Park Elementary School family!

NPES families: Regular car line begins today - there are no front door drop offs. Please exit our parking lot by turning right to make it go faster for all. You can make a u-turn on Logsdon if you need to turn left. Thank you for helping all families get through the line quickly by turning right as you leave, having your child unbuckled and ready with backpack on. It's going to be a great second day!

What a great first day of kindergarten! We had a wonderful day. We had very few transportation issues - thank YOU for utilizing your PickUp Patrol accounts to help make afternoon dismissal much smoother than usual. Reminder that the regular car rider line begins tomorrow (no drop offs at the front doors). The car rider line typically closes at 7:27 so that everyone can get in by 7:30. There may be some delays tomorrow, but it will speed up very soon. School will dismiss at 2:15 tomorrow. Have a great night!

We are having a great first day at NPES! Please remember that school dismisses at 1:15 PM today (TODAY only - tomorrow is a normal full day). That means we will walk students to the buses at 1:15. Our buses will not leave for about 10 minutes after that. It takes a while the first day. Car line will start after that. Please note that bus times may vary today depending on how long it takes us to load buses and how long it takes drivers to complete first day routes. We will notify you via Dojo once our buses are loaded and leaving. Thank you for a great morning - our procedures were very smooth!

Parents - we are so excited to welcome our KINDERGARTEN students tomorrow! We have a default transportation plan for nearly all of our kinder students now (with the exception of a few students who we are still working on who registered in the last week). IF YOU NEED TO MAKE A TRANSPORTATION CHANGE, YOU MUST DO THAT IN PICKUP PATROL. If you are making a one-day change, please be sure you aren't changing the default plan. Just make a daily change. A link to a video to help you can be found here:
https://youtu.be/HAVjL53ys24?si=ifdd9TfRyn30MJViTo make transportation changes, look for the PickUp Patrol link pinned to the top of Class Dojo, our Facebook page, on our school website (under parents) and at the bottom of the weekly school newsletter.
There is also a parent guide which can be found here:

North Park Families - we look forward to seeing you at Open House tonight from 5:00-7:45 (based on last name). Please park in the front and enter on the LEFT SIDE of the building where our buses park. You will not be able to park in that area. Please do not use the front doors - that will be an exit only tonight. If you have not created your PickUp Patrol account AND your student's default transportation plan, that must be done before you leave Open House. We highly recommend you doing that BEFORE Open House because you will have a lot of things to do during our event. If we do not have a default plan set, we will not know where to send your child on the first day of school. If you don't know your bus number, Mrs. Morgan has created a file with all the streets and assigned numbers for your reference. Feel free to call with any questions! Click the link for instructions from Mrs. Morgan.

Parents, we have a new program for transportation changes. It is called PickUp Patrol. We are very excited because you will have more control to make plan changes, and it will speed up our dismissal process.
One of our kindergarten parents made a video showing how to complete the process. A link to that video is located here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/16IBWwFRmFRIh4JlT8YfGFpVvjK_2hDUa/view?usp=sharing
You will be receiving an email from PickUp Patrol soon, so make sure to check your spam folder. This invite will only be sent out to Guardians who registered their child with an accurate email.
I am also including a link to a file that can help you locate what bus your child will ride. There is a file for the streets in the Meadow View, Radcliff, Vine Grove, and Woodland districts. We will have the transportation department at North Park on Open House night to assist with any questions or concerns. If your child is going to be a car rider, we will assign you a number that night as well.
This is the link to the bus numbers and street names:

Please be patient as this is a new system for all of us. There will be kinks, but we feel it will smooth out soon, and you will like the efficiency of the program.
